Bio
Listen out for the trumpet blowing; here’s a few things you can expect from working with Glo;
I work on a consultation basis
(as and when you need my help rather than employing someone full time)
I prefer to work with clients on a long-term basis
(as you grow I’m here to help and already know your business)
Not a one-size-fits all template factory
(everything’s tailored to fit your business)
Industrial design background
(means I analyse everything)
Excitable and passionate (woohoo!)
Hands on and practical (I like to get stuck in)
Quick to react (there when you need me)
Work with the boss!
(so you’re not having to repeat yourself to account managers)
Oh, I’ve won a couple of awards along the way
CUSTOMER CHARTER
“Glo is committed to providing you with our highest quality of service.
While I can’t guarantee to agree with your ideas (and not to put my foot in it occasionally) I AM committed to the timely delivery of all my products and services.
Glo will strive to meet and surpass your expectations through an efficient, personable and passionate approach to every project of every size (although I do like the big projects because despite what people say, money can buy you happiness)”
I like to do my bit for the environment, so I use energy saving lightbulbs, recycle my waste, turn everything off I’m not using, drive an IQ, eco-flush toilet (too much information) but above all, when you work with Glo, you gain some of the green-ness as we only use FSC approved printers.

Back in 2002, after studying Industrial Design Innovation* at Sheffield Hallam University (and keeping down a full time job to pay for the beer and the bands) there was a distinct lack of jobs in the vicinity in design. As luck would have it I met a chap called John Hall, who introduced me to the Genesis Programme (business start up scheme for “creative types”) Well, a week after graduation I was back in Barnsley to set up Glo.
*Industrial design is a combination of applied art and applied science, whereby the aesthetics, ergonomics and usability of products may be improved for marketability and production. The role of an industrial designer is to create and execute design solutions towards problems of form, usability, physical ergonomics, marketing, brand development and sales. (Wikipedia)
I promise there’s a point to telling you all this.
Anyway, 12 months into the programme I won a Department of Trade & Industry Smart Award to carry out a commercial and technical feasibility study into a new chassis-based, rotationally-moulded wheelchair concept.

Are you still awake?
Well then I got involved in a couple of other industrial design projects; World’s 1st miniature UV detection device, desktop milling machine, Parcel Safe…
Wind it up will you...
Well while I was working in and between these projects I was expanding my horizons to offer design and print to local businesses. Well, things just grew from there and the rest, as they say, is history.
I’ve now helped over 130 businesses; and as far-afield as Jamaica!
